THE FLORIDA SOCIETY OF CRITICAL CARE MEDICINE was formed 29 years ago by a group of physicians and other professionals in the state of Florida, specializing in the care of critically ill patients. These individuals realized the necessity of a multidisciplinary approach and established the goal of assisting practicing physicians and other health care professionals in keeping abreast of current techniques and information relating to the care of these patients. From this core group, the Society has grown to include physicians from the major teaching facilities throughout Florida in both its' leadership and educational endeavors. As indicated by the program schedule, the Society continues to promote the multidisciplinary approach in caring for critically ill patients and we cordially invite all health care professionals interested in the care of the critically ill to attend the 29th FSCCM Annual Labor Day Weekend Symposium at Marco Island, Florida.
